A new air conditioner is one of the larger purchases a homeowner makes, and in San Angelo it’s also one of the hardest-working appliances you’ll ever own. Those are the minimums — the floor, not the goal. Because your compressor will run thousands of hours a year, stepping up to a higher-SEER2 system often returns the difference in energy savings well within the life of the equipment. Insulation is half the system. Even a perfect AC fights a losing battle in a leaky house. The 2021 IECC targets R-38 in the ceiling and roughly R-20 (or R-13+5 continuous) in the walls for Zone 3B, and many older San Angelo homes fall short. What to expect on installation day

A standard changeout — replacing an existing system with comparable equipment — is typically a single day. We protect your floors and work areas, safely recover the old refrigerant, remove the old equipment, and set the new indoor and outdoor units. Then comes the part that separates a good install from a mediocre one: we pull a proper vacuum on the line set to remove moisture, weigh in the exact refrigerant charge, verify airflow, and test the system across a full cooling cycle before we call it done. You’ll get a walkthrough of the new thermostat and your filter schedule, and we haul away the old equipment.
